"Photojournalism isn't making pictures for yourself or your ego.It is making pictures for the reader. Photographers who understand this move ahead very fast." Rich Clarkson.

The development of photography nowadays, was one of the most profound changes that has affected the way we view the world. Photography brings to life, people, places, events and other things that we would otherwise have trouble understanding. It has given us a common set of images with which to understand the that we do not personally experience. To be successful as a photojournalist, you must be more than a photographer. Technique is necessary, but many people have that and aren't good photojournalist. You need confidence and a broad perspective on the world, and you must be sensitive and perceptive. Expand your interest into as many areas as you can . Don't just hang around with other photographers, but get out into your on community.

Take a good look look in the mirror . Photojournalism requires certain personal traits; curiosity, tenacity and an ability to deal with people are high on the list. If you aren't comfortable approaching strangers with your camera, then perhaps photojournalism isn't the photographic specialty for you.

As you grow, get feedback from others on your work. Being a photojournalist is a lot like being an athlete or musician. You must practice everyday.
